After the Washington Wizards game on April 9, the bar will close its bar doors. However, that's not the end. The chain that has been a part of the home of many DC sports and events will reopen what they will call "The Shell Raiser Lounge." This light fare restaurant will remain open through post-season. WUSA9 reported that the company agreed to an early buyout of their lease. The original lease was not ending for another three years.
Many are wondering if this buyout is related to the possibility of sports gambling coming to the arena.
