Amazon Releases Margaret Atwood's Latest Book a Week Too Early

Frankfurt Book Fair 2017 - Day 5

Amazon is apologizing for accidentally shipping Margaret Atwood's new novel ahead of its release date.

Atwood is the award-winning author of "The Handmaid's Tale," which is now a popular series on Hulu. Her new book "The Testaments" is a sequel to "The Handmaid's Tale," and was set for release tomorrow.

Security around the novel had been as tight as any blockbuster release and the judges for the Booker prize, who have shortlisted The Testaments for the award, were warned they would be held liable if their watermarked copies leaked.

But since last week, readers have been posting images on Twitter of their freshly delivered copies, a week before the novel’s official release
