‘Oscars of Government Service’ Honor Feds Across Nation

Partnership For Public Service 2nd Annual Gala

Scientists, human right activists and other innovators are among the finalists for the 2019 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal, also known as the Oscars of government service.

The Partnership for Public Service announced the finalists who include 26 federal employees and teams from over 20 federal agencies across the nation.

“Following the longest government shutdown in history, it’s imperative that we celebrate and recognize the important and critical work of our nation’s civil servants,” Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service, said in a statement. “The 2019 Service to America Medals showcase our remarkable federal workforce who serve the public good and address many of the country’s greatest challenges.”

Each finalist now has a shot at one of the seven Service to America Medals. The finalists are also eligible for the Service to America Medals People Choice Award.

Winners will be unveiled and honored Oct. 16, 2019, at an awards gala at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.
