U.S., Singapore Forge AI Partnership

The Pentagon’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center has a new international partner that will promote the use of AI capabilities to enhance defense operations 

JAIC and Singapore’s Defense Science and Technology Agency held a multi-day technology event to promote collaboration around AI, focusing on humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, according to a Defense Department release. 

Together, JAIC and DSTA will foster the use of AI capabilities to enhance defense operations as well as help save lives and livelihood by reducing the time of search and discovery.

DOD said this joint effort is the first step for the two to share ideas and knowledge in an effort to push new, innovative AI-enabled applications.

While the exchange focused primarily on humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, the two organizations also discussed possible future partnerships between the U.S. and Singapore to use AI in various ways.
