A newly introduced bill intends to make it easier for veterans to become entrepreneurs and succeed at their small business endeavors.

Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., and Tim Kaine, D-Va., introduced the Veterans Small Business Ownership Improvements Act to help veterans transition to civilian life and build a pipeline of veteran small business owners.

In a statement, Gardner said over 200,000 veterans transition to civilian life yearly, and they’re more likely to be self-employed than those who didn’t serve.

“This bill will make sure our nation’s veterans who wish to start a business are introduced to the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to live their dream and establish a successful business,” the senator said.
