xTechSearch 3.0 Seeks Next-Gen Tech

The Army has kicked off its third cohort of the expeditionary technology search competition, known as xTechSearch 3.0.

Launched in 2017, the competition seeks to engage with the non-defense traditional small business sector. Companies get to pitch their innovative technology solutions directly to Army leaders.

Adranos, Inc. was the grand prize winner of the first competition in March, with its high-performance, clean solid propellant for long-range missile and space launch systems. Company CEO and co-founder Chris Stoker and Chief Technology Officer Brandon Terry said they were surprised how quickly the Army moved through the four phases of the competition.

“It enabled us to accelerate the development of our products so that we can implement them sooner than we would have been able to otherwise,” they said in a statement.

xTechSearch 3.0 is looking for new concepts and technologies to propel capabilities across multiple areas, including long-range precision fires, next-generation combat vehicle, future vertical lift, the Army network, air and missile defense, increasing soldier lethality, medical and military engineering technologies.
